I'm reading the book Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins, the main character Katniss is experiencing some tough times. After surviving the 74th Annual Hunger Games she doesn't need to ever go back... But with the 75th Hunger Games coming up they always do something special for every 25th year. The Capital, controls all districts, says that it's required that the past winners are required to return to the Hunger Games to compete. Katniss panics and realizes that she would have to go back with Peeta, who protected her life during their time at the Hunger Games and is her friend. Katniss's mission now, is to protect Peeta at all cost. After the Hunger Games, Katniss wants Peeta to begin a uprising against the Capital.
The reason Katniss wants to have a uprising is because the Capital won't take care of any of the Twelve districts, many people are suffering. When Katniss was in the Hunger Games arena she realizes how horrible it is to be true victims of the Capital. Katniss doesn't want anyone else to experience brute force they impose upon the innocent public or the harsh treatment from the Capital. They get the blunt end of it they know how it feels to be on the bottom of the blow.
The reason Katniss wants Peeta to lead the charge against the Capital is because she believes that Peeta is a natural born leader. When they were in the Hunger Games he was able to convince the other tributes to leave Katniss alone and go after a more worthwhile opponent. Peeta convinced Katniss to break out of her nervous shell and to fight like true competitor. Peeta convinced the Peace Keeper to stop whipping Katniss's best friend Gale by reasoning with him. Making Katniss very grateful.
